the book Elis

What is the Elis about?

I will start with the unpleasant truth: Elis is a memoir.

Memoirs generally don’t have the best reputation. Most are written by people under the mistaken impression that their life is so extraordinary, it simply must be shared with the world.

They’re usually dull and more likely to send you to sleep than keep you turning the pages.

However, as with everything, there are exceptions.

And I dare to believe – just as every author does – that Elis is one of them.

This book is written raw, emotionally, and honestly, with a fair dose of sarcasm. It is accompanied by illustrations to help the reader step more deeply into the story of a young woman who, due to a string of unfortunate circumstances, found herself in the underbelly of Irish society.

To provide for her daughter, she began offering escort services, disgusted with herself, yet determined. Later, she wrote a book about it.

Yes, the young woman is me. It’s not something I’m proud of, but it is something I believe is important to share.

The book captures both beautiful moments and the darkest ones. Emotions range from warm and tender to those that eat away at you from the inside. It is, quite simply, a story about the cruelty of fate, the harshness of human nature, but also the redeeming sides of humanity.

It offers a look into the world’s oldest profession, challenging some of the stigma that surrounds it. It is controversial, yes, but also deeply different.

Summarising it is difficult, it needs to be read. I’ve received some incredibly kind feedback, and I can only hope it might resonate with you as well.

It means a lot to me, not only because it reflects three years of my life, but because I managed to turn something deeply negative into something I dare call meaningful. Along the way, I also discovered that writing is exactly what I want to do. So, of course, I continue.

ABOUT ME

My name is Anna Rajmon,  I am from the Czech Republic. I speak two languages and fluent sarcasm. I love nature and animals more than people, and I force myself to run every day because I love strawberry doughnuts far too much.

Life has shown me that it can be both generous and cruel. It has given me a wonderful daughter and a deep passion for writing, and it has taken a lot from me as well.

I have had enough life experience to sell it.

Actually, that is exactly what I do, in the form of books.

Writing brings me joy. It took me an unreasonably long time to discover what I truly love, but now I know that this is what I want to do with my life. I will probably die as an old lady, surrounded by a pack of dogs, with a pen in my hand, and honestly, I am fine with that.

Every moment of joy, every fall, and every rise has shaped me not only as a person but also as a writer. I have chosen not to keep my stories to myself. I want to share it because I believe that some stories are not written by the author alone, but by life itself.

Writing is more than just a passion for me. It is my way of making sense of chaos, of turning emotions into words and giving them meaning.

Every page is a space where I can reveal the world as I see it, in all its rawness, beauty and darkness. I do not wish to create something artificial. I want to uncover what already exists, perhaps hidden just beneath the surface.

I believe literature has the power to connect us, to open minds, and sometimes, even to heal.

BOOK OVERVIEWS

Elis the book

ELIS - Irish Call Girl

Dancing with Red Flags
1_edited.jpg

An honest, sarcastic, and much-needed guide for women who are tired of dating disasters and questionable creatures.

This book does not sugar-coat anything. It is not about finding “the one” or fixing broken men. It is about recognising the patterns, spotting the signs, and finally walking away from all those charming disasters dressed in emotional camouflage.

If my ex-partners were good for anything, it was being bad examples, and therefore, I used them to write this book.

Written with raw honesty, humour, and a generous dose of sarcasm, Dancing with Red Flags shares real-life dating experiences, the psychology behind toxic behaviour, and practical advice for women who are done ignoring their intuition.

If you have ever dated a narcissist, a ghoster, a love bomber, or just someone who made you feel small,  you are not alone. We have all been there at some point, and I would not wish it on anyone.

This book will not save you.

But it might help you see the signs and save yourself before it is too late.

Because there is nothing more dangerous than falling for a charming red flag.
